Library 2.0

It's been almost a week since I started reading up on and watching some internet video on Library 2.0 (or Web 2.0) and I am finally getting to write some responses on what I learned or had affirmed. I know that Mr. Abram says if we believe something is important, we'll make time but I know for myself, sometimes working in a media center with six 50-minute scheduled classes a day, I do a little bit of triage. That is, what exactly do I need for tomorrow? And learning for the future usually falls a little bit below the necessities for my classes the next day. So, I'm glad I'm doing this during the summer. Reading last week was amazing in that before I knew it, I had visited more websites, (directed by the ones I was on) and I found that over two hours had gone by! I ended up viewing a couple of David Wesch (sp? - now I'm a little fuzzy on the name) videos on using technology with today's college kids. While I am in the elementary media center, I still found it interesting to see an actual application on how technology can be integrated into curriculum and how it can make the curriculum more collaborative.

I'm looking forward to expanding my horizons and learning more about how technology can be integrated into my classroom/media center.

A Beginning

I'm just venturing out on this 23 things on a Stick challenge and I'm excited to try some new things and expand my knowledge of the technological world. My goal is to get as much done as possible while it's summer because I know that once the school year hits, I'll have trouble keeping up!

I'm also reading my last Maud Hart Lovelace nominee for the 08-09 school year. I love to see what the choices are and which ones are my personal favorites. Sometimes I read them so fast, they are a blur!
Here's the website if you're curious what MHL is all about.
